Children need a variety of physical exercise each day to develop their gross motor and fine motor skills.
One way that the 3, 4 and 5-year-olds enjoy exploring physical movement is in our weekly Fun-N-Fitness class. Our energetic Fun-N-Fitness teacher prepares age-appropriate activities that engage the children in active play like scooter riding, obstacle courses, water play, tumbling, and parachute play. Extra special activities include Bike Day, when children bring their bikes to school, and Winter Wonderland, where the children pretend to ice skate and throw snowballs.
Gross and fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, and visual tracking skills are just some of the areas of development that are enhanced during Fun-N-Fitness time – important skills that are used for prereading and prewriting.
Children learn to control body movements, allowing them to gain skills for future good health practices and increased physical abilities, all while building self-confidence and coordination within a safe environment.
