Art is for every child! Art experiences provide children with a way to communicate their feelings and serves as an outlet for their own self-expression. Through a variety of different art activities we hope to encourage each child to explore and experiment with their creativeness and to be proud of all their efforts!
Here at Calvary we have an Art Teacher who provides a lesson each week for our Transitional Kindergarten and our Kindergarten classes. The lesson plans extend to our four year olds within their classrooms. Art education as a separate class or incorporated into the classroom should have fun creative learning experiences involving all mediums of art. Art enriches children′s lives by allowing them to use their senses and minds in experiencing their environment. Through art experiences children are developing large and small motor skills, eye-hand coordination, visual awareness and critical thinking all while expressing their own creativity. Using the different art tools; scissors, crayons, paste, paint, allows each child to develop those skills.
