As every parent knows, the two-year-old is ready to assert his or her independence at every turn! Here at Calvary Child Development Center, we offer a wonderful program that brings out the hidden potential bundled up in these little ones — so full of energy and life!

We expose the children to a large variety of topics using our 2s curriculum that encourages observation, imitation, exploration, and open access to hands-on experiences using the five senses. At this age, as in all levels of Early Childhood Education, learning is most meaningful when it is achieved through play.

A typical day for a 2-year-old at Calvary Child Development Center will include:

• Reading books
• Playing cognitive games
• Doing art projects
• Listening to music
• Movement
• Playing outside
• Hearing Bible stories, songs, and prayers

The children will be actively involved throughout the day in the various centers that each classroom has available:

• Science
• Blocks and Trucks
• Music
• Books
• Housekeeping
• Manipulatives

Two-year-olds also attend a Spanish class! We use a comprehensive Spanish curriculum to teach the two-year olds vocabulary words such as colors and animals. Twos also have their own science area where they have an opportunity to have a hands-on good time exploring. Music classes are held once a week with the Sonbeam Music teacher.
